{"id":1512,"date":"2016-06-27T22:09:32","date_gmt":"2016-06-27T22:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.caravanramblings.co.uk\/?p=1512"},"modified":"2016-07-14T22:00:31","modified_gmt":"2016-07-14T22:00:31","slug":"costswolds-2016-day-4-three-villages-walk-and-eexit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.caravanramblings.co.uk\/?p=1512","title":{"rendered":"Costswolds, 2016 &#8211; Day 4, Three Villages walk and Eexit&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Weather forecast was average but we were expecting a somewhat rain-free day so we decided to drive to the Cotswold Water Park and walk the &#8220;Three Villages walk&#8221;.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1517\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1517\" style=\"width: 191px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1517\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caravanramblings.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/cotswold-water-park.jpg\" alt=\"Cotswold Water Park...\" width=\"191\" height=\"160\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1517\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cotswold Water Park&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Cotswold Water Park isn&#8217;t a fun park but an area of 40 square miles, with more than 150 lakes, set across the countryside of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire.<\/p>\n<p>This particular walk is circular and of around 9 miles starting at Somerford Keynes. The first section of the walk follows the route of the Thames path national trail towards Ashton Keynes and then north to South Cerney.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1516\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1516\" style=\"width: 266px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1516\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caravanramblings.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/eliotarms.jpg\" alt=\"Eliot Arms, South Cerney...\" width=\"266\" height=\"183\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1516\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Eliot Arms, South Cerney&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>At South Cerney we had lunch at the Eliot Arms and then set back on the final section. Alas, after very heavy overnight rain the path became impassable under around a foot of water and with just a mile or two to complete we had to abandon and track back to South Cerney. Mo says this place should be renamed Waterworld.<\/p>\n<p>At this point we used the local public transport and caught a bus to Cirencester and then back to Somerford Keynes.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening, we watched Eexit, the Brexit sequel in which the England football team lost 2-1 to Iceland!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Weather forecast was average but we were expecting a somewhat rain-free day so we decided to drive to the Cotswold Water Park and walk the &#8220;Three Villages walk&#8221;.
