Moe’s bike needed a different conversion kit altogether as there is insufficient clearance for the bottle battery on her frame.<\/p>\n

We chose a conversion kit from Cyclotricity but Cyclotricity themselves wanted \u00a390 to ship to Spain. In the end, we ordered from Electric Bike Conversions in Stoke and it turned out this was the same Cyclotricity unit and postage via DPD to Conil would be free! Delivery was a little tardier with DPD, taking a full 6 working days.<\/p>\n

EBC Kit…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In summary, this kit was a little trickier than mine:<\/p>\n

– Pannier rack was missing 2 threaded bolts to secure the rack to the rear frame.<\/p>\n

– The brake sensors\u00a0 consisted of new brake levers but Moe’s bike has integrated gear shift and brake levers so this part of the kit clearly isn’t going to work. I toyed with the idea of swapping the sensors with my bike which will take the new levers but the electrical connections on the 2 kits are not compatible. Mine’s a three pin connector whilst Moe’s\u00a0 is two pin.<\/p>\n

– I’m a little disappointed with the controller which has only 3 power levels and no LCD display. Still, this kit was a full \u00a3200 cheaper than mine for an 11aH system which is appropriate given our difference in weight.<\/p>\n

Off with the tyre and inner tube…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Fitting to the new wheel…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Inflating the tyre…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The new wheel comes with a selection of nuts and washers. It’s important that the torque washers are properly incorporated into the slot between the forks.<\/p>\n
